Las Vegas Handyman, Inc. announced the appointment of Jim Revak to the position of field craftsman. In his position, Revak's responsibilities include residential and commercial repairs, remodeling, carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, painting, drywall, stucco and various other types of handyman services. Previously, Revak worked for Door Pro.
Kalb Construction is please to announce that Jim Flexton recently joined the company as a senior project manager. Flexton's career includes heading up the construction of factory facilities for General Electric, an ownership interest in AMG Industries a commercial development and construction company, as well as an additional eight years of construction management experience here in Las Vegas.
Horizon Surveys, a regional land surveying and mapping company headquartered in Las Vegas, NV, has announced the appointments of Paul Burn and Dennis Layton to the position of executive vice president. They will both operate from the corporate office in Summerlin.

Eva Paulussen, chef and owner of Wild Truffles, recently accepted a proclaimation from the Clark County Board of Commissioners. Paulussen accepted a proclaimation on behalf of the Wild Truffles family and co-owner/husband, Chef George Paulussen. OB Sports Golf Management recently named Gary Ault as director of golf operations at Aliante Golf Club. Ault will oversee marketing efforts, golf shop merchandising and inventory control, budgeting, personnel management, agronomy and golf instruction. Since April of 2004, Ault has been the head golf professional at Aliante. Prior to this position, he was the director of instruction for the Mesquite Golf Academy in Mesquite, NV.
Nevada Public Radio Corporation (NVPR) recently elected board officers for the 2005-2006 term. NVPR owns and operates News 88.9 KNPR, an all news and information station, Classical 89.7 KCNV, a 24-hour classical music station and three other rural stations and a network of ten translators. Newly elected officers are: Mick Roemer, chairman; Dave Cabral, vice chairman; Jenny Des Vaux Oakes, treasure; Lamar Marchese, secretary.
Finance
Colonial Bank of Nevada announced the appointment of Sharon Knoll to the position of credit file clerk. Knoll will update and maintain all credit file documents regarding new and existing customers. Prior to her appointment, Knoll worked for a medical credit union serving as both a customer service representative and loan officer.
In addition, Colonial Bank of Nevada announced the appointment of Ron L. Savery to the position of lending officer III. In his new position, Savery will serve as assistant vice president in consumer banking, as well as the underwriter for the consumer banding division. Prior to his appointment, Savery served as a branch manager of Pinellas Federal Credit Union.
Colonial Bank of Nevada also announced the appointment of Idale Kaplan to senior loan officer. Kaplan will be responsible for originating mortgage loans for families in addition to assisting the Retail & Wealth Management division with their mortgage loan goals. Prior to her appointment, Kaplan served the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation as it's western regional underwriting and quality control manager.

Accomplished hotel executive Mark Stevenson has been named general manager of the Ritz-Carlton, Lake Las Vegas and will join the 349-room destination golf, spa and recreation resort. Stevenson comes from The Ritz-Carlton, San Juan Hotel, Spa & Casino, where for six years he has served as the award-winning property's general manager. His industry experience includes senior management posts with two additional global hotel brands, among them a resort executive role in Lake Tahoe market.

MassMedia announced the relocation of their coporate offices to 4065 E. Post Rd. to accomodate the growth of the agency.
MassMedia has appointed Joshua Burnett to graphic and web designer. Burnett will be reponsible for the design of materials for print and for use on the internet. In addition, Burnett will create marketing kits, websites and other design pieces for clients from items such as logos or business cards. Prior to joining Mass Media, Burnett designed direct marketing pieces as a graphic designer for Spectrum Marketing in Carlsbad, Calif.

The DRI Research Foundation, the fund raising arm of the Desert Research Institute, has added nine new trustees. The new foundation trustees are: Mike Benjamin, Erin Bilbray-Kohn, Dr. Kenneth Ciriacks, David Clark, D. Allison Copening, Robert Noland, Sylvia Samano, Thomas J. Schoeman and Stephen Snyder. A non-profit, statewide division of the University and Community College System of Nevada, DRI pursues a full-time program of basic and applied environmental research on a local, national, and international scale.

The Boulevard Mall recently named Michael Mongan as the new senior general manager for the mall. Mongan has been with General Growth Properties, Inc. for over eight years, and has 21 years of experience in shopping center management. He has managed several properties, most recently at a General Growth Mall in Northern California.
Telecommunications
CommPartners appointed Kris Twomey as regulatory counselor. Twomey brings many years of experience to CommPartners, In addition to his work, Twomey is a principal of the Law Office of Kristopher E. Twomey where he represents competitive local exchange carriers and internet service providers. His previous experience was as an associate at a San Francisco law firm where he negotiated interconnection agreements between competitive and incumbent carriers and worked with regulators to ensure proper implementation.
Convention telecommunications provider Smart City recently named Brown & Partners Advertising, Public Relations and Public Affairs as its advertising and public relations agency of record.
