Construction

Education



The University of Southern Nevada has appointed Elizabeth Gonzalez, Pharm.D., to the position of assistant professor of pharmacy practice. In addition to her appointment, Gonzalez provides clinical services in the area of infectious disease and adult acute care at St. Rose Hospital.

Regis University has promoted Kathy Cunningham to associate campus director, responsible for providing overall operational support as well as acting as faculty adviser for students. Linda Doyle was hired as faculty student services manager and MBA adviser.

Manpower Inc. of Southern Nevada has hired Heidi Batiste as business development manager; Crystal Guido, Kalolaine Fehoko and Sabrina Howard as staffing specialists; Ryan Balsewich, Hope Beal, Jessica Jeffries-Lewellyn, Cana Ivie, Brittany Fleming and Katie Connor as staff members. The Las Vegas professional division of the company has promoted Michelle Meakin to branch manager. LaRonce Marshall and Stephanie Pedersen have been hired as recruiters.

Finance



Silver State Bancorp has appointed Orit Raiter to the position of credit analyst. She will be responsible for the analysis of financial statements and tax returns, and the creation of reports associated with commercial loan applications of future and existing borrowers. Previously, Raiter worked for Double R LLC.

Nevada Federal Credit Union has hired Doug White, Joel Moskowitz, Julie Blas, Cely Farinas, Liliana Altamarino, Donna Stone, Ileana Rangel, Shannon Early and Dillon Pieffer. Promotions include Chuck McCluer, Jennifer Yoo and Dawn Craig.





Government



The Housing Authority of the City of Las Vegas awarded A-1 Janitorial Services a one-year service contract to provide janitorial, vacancy cleaning, special services, and floor and carpet cleaning services for buildings under management by the authority. Properties awarded under the contract include the senior housing properties of Arthur Sartini Plaza, James Down Towers, Harry Levy Gardens, Aida Brents and Robert Gordon Plaza. It also includes the housing authority's office complexes of the Howard Cannon Center, as well as the housing program offices and the central supply warehouse.



Insurance



McFadden Insurance Agency Inc. has appointed Mike Ware as an account executive producer with the firm. He brings more than 15 years of experience to the agency.





Earl McDowell Insurance Services opened an office located at 7331 W. Lake Mead Blvd., Suite 104.

Hensey & Associates opened an office located at 4235 S. Ft. Apache Road, Suite 210.

Greg Gumbayan Insurance Agency opened an office at 1380 E. Sahara Ave., Suite A.

Jill Douglass has been named district director of agencies for Country Insurance & Financial Services. She is responsible for regional and corporate sales for District 1 of the Western Region.





Yakubik-Romero Insurance Agency has named Monica Reyes as agency contact manager and Christine Sandhu and Elias Ramirez as customer service representatives.



Law



Armstrong Teasdale LLP has opened a new Las Vegas office. Kirby Colson, a partner formerly located in the St. Louis office, will be the managing attorney of the Las Vegas office. Seven additional attorneys will be assigned initially to support the office. They are Stephen A. Crystal, Daniel O. Herrington, Rebecca T. Balint, Gregory A. Iken, Craig G. Moore, Jason Naimi and Jill R. Newbold.

Lara Pearson was elected chairperson of the intellectual property section of the State Bar of Nevada.

Jolley Urga Wirth Woodbury & Standish has hired Z. Ryan Pahnke in the firm's commercial litigation practice. He is admitted to practice in the state of Nevada and in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada.

The Nevada State Health Division has appointed Dana Woolley, RN community health nursing manager.



Public Relations & Marketing



Wingfield Nevada Group has hired Angee Wyss as marketing communications manager. She will oversee the day-to-day messaging for the company and its subsidiaries, working to develop and broaden brand identification. Wyss will also work closely with Coyote Springs and act as the property's liaison with R&R Partners.

Vanguard Media Group has been retained as the agency of record by the Vegas Valley Angels.

The Litchfield Group is accepting new clients after a five-year hiatus.

Consultants in Marketing Inc. has named Vanessa Vazquez account specialist. Previously, she was a marketing assistant for the YWCA of Oah'u, Hawaii.

R&R Partners Inc. has appointed Michael Pieper as managing director of the firm's Washington, D.C. office. He presently serves as executive director of the Republican Governors Association. Victoria Soberinsky, deputy executive director of the RGA, will also join the company's Washington, D.C. office.

Kerry Halgrims has been named director of account services at Lund & Manasse Advertising & Public Relations. He joins from Pacific Bell/SBC in Anaheim, Calif., where he was a division manager.

MassMedia has hired Lindsay Hansen as an account executive. Previously, she was a senior account executive at Schadler Kramer Group. In addition, the company has been retained as the agency of record by Goldwater Capital Nevada LLC.









Real Estate



Kathryn Hall was appointed director of marketing for Las Ventanas. Previously, Hall was sales and marketing director for the Episcopal Homes Foundation in Los Gatos, Calif.

GMAC Real Estate has awarded a franchise to Dave Crete.

Territory Incorporated has hired Michael Shohet as a project manager. Previously, he was a project engineer with Perini Building Company. Melanie Mooney has joined the firm as a development coordinator. She formerly worked for Wright Engineers Inc.

Purafilter 2000 ranked first in sales per point of distribution and second in total sales dollars in U.S. grocery stores by AC Nielsen's brand rank report. Also, The company appointed Al Di Lorenzo to the position of route sales representative for the Ocala, Fla. sales market.

M & I International has opened a store at 3819 Spring Mountain Road. The business is owned by Ira Rock.
