Kathleen Gustafson
MEMBERSHIP SALES DIRECTOR, STIRLING CLUB AT TURNBERRY PLACE

Kathleen Gustafson knows luxury.

Gustafson directs membership sales for the Stirling Club at Turnberry Place, a high-rise condominium community on Paradise Road. There, Gustafson introduces prospective members to the 80,000-square-foot Stirling Club's amenities, which include fine dining, a spa, a fitness center and Pilates studio, a beauty salon, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a cigar room and a piano bar, among other features.

Before she joined the Stirling Club in June, Gustafson spent six years at the Hyatt Regency Lake Las Vegas Resort, where she oversaw VIP services and coordinated leisure sales and group sales. She's a past president and vice president of the Southern Nevada Hotel Concierge Association.

What restaurant is your favorite for celebrating a big deal or the completion of a major business goal?

Definitely Charlie Palmer Steak. We love the Charlie Palmer Group because they do all the Stirling Club's food and beverage in-house, so I'm familiar with their service and their food. Everything there is good. I've probably tried everything on the menu.

What show on the Strip do you recommend the most?

I used to say "O," but now I tell people they should go see Gordie Brown (at The Venetian), because he's not as well-known as Cirque du Soleil or Danny Gans. People love Gordie Brown, and he just brightens your day. I've seen his show three times. He's so funny. People I've recommended the show to call me back and tell me it was awesome. Gordie Brown is just very good, and you don't hear enough about him.

What's your favorite vacation spot?

Last summer, I went to Tahiti with my husband and we went scuba diving on all the different islands. If I could do that every year, I'd be happy.

What hobby do you spend the most time on outside work?

Tennis. We have a tennis team here at the Stirling Club. It's such a wonderful game -- polite, yet still aggressive -- and it gives you a great workout. It's a great game for socializing, too. It's kind of an all-in-one activity.

What's the best local spot for a shopping spree?

Barneys New York at the Palazzo. I've already been there twice. Everything is eclectic. They find all these really cool designers from throughout the world, so a lot of times, what you find at Barneys, you can't find anywhere else. Plus, it's beautiful.

If money were no object, what dream toy would you buy?

I'd buy the largest yacht I could find and sail to the Mediterranean. I love the water. I could scuba dive, swim, snorkel, sail -- everything I love to do on the water.
